What is a Powers of Attorney?
Description
A Powers of Attorney is a legal document that gives the person (agent or lawyer-in fact) the power to act for any other person (principal). The agent may have legal authority or limited authority to make a legal decision about the principal's property, finance or medical care. In the event of principal illness or disability, the Powers of Attorney is often used, or when the principal may not be present to sign legal documents necessary for financial transactions. The person appointed as a lawyer's power is not necessarily an advocate. The person can only be a trustworthy family member, friend or acquaintance.
