Description

You might be let down if you were banking on your solar system in Perth to offer light on cloudy days. The fact that clouds are composed of ice crystals and water droplets is the cause. As the light travels through the cloud, the water droplets scatter it in all directions and slightly refract (bend) it. This softens the light from the sun and produces an effect akin to a massive diffuser. Although this is fantastic for indoor illumination, it is not the best option for outdoor lighting.
