The role This role is part of a team involved with the production of financial information for the Capital Markets division within the Bank. The role provides daily and monthly financial information on Central Treasury desks. This role will form part of the Trading Desk Financial Control team working with ten other Accountants and the Head Trading Accountant. Specifics of the role include daily P L for the Central Treasury Desks analysis of daily P&L movements processing daily journals to the general ledger Producing month end audit file for review reviewing of Cash Nostro reconciliation and assisting in clearing these items document the variance analysis of the P&L and Balance Sheet for the desk for the month compared to budget and prior years analysis of all costs including variance analysis regulatory Capital calculations and impact of Basel Ii liaison with Tax including dealing with any irrecoverable Vat issues and transfer pricing issues preparing relevant timely forecasts and budgets preparing monthly regulatory returns for the Sarb where applicable understanding the business of the desk in order to provide commentary on large P&L movements on a daily and monthly basis point of first contact liaison with internal customers within the division within the Group and vendors assisting settlements operations areas and ensuring a strong appropriate control environment What they are looking for You are a qualified accountant with experience in Financial Control in banking Treasury environment (essential You have knowledge experience in the preparation of statutory accounts (essential) and Ifrs accounting knowledge and experience.
