At first I found the job challenging and relished the responsibility I was afforded. I was trusted with managing high profile events for hundreds of guests coordinating my Directors international diary and travel arrangements on a daily basis producing and tracking their confidential government board papers and writing company literature for marketing material and UK-wide tenders. I developed the ability to liaise with people at all levels on a professional and social basis and became accustomed to prioritising and managing an ever changing and deadline-bound workload. However after a few years I craved more responsibility and was eager to move away from an essentially reactive role into a position where I could make more of my own decisions and ultimately make more money After having an informal chat with the consultants and Directors at Hays Secretarial I realised a career in Pa recruitment would tick all these boxes and was exactly what I was looking for. I also found that the skills I had developed through being a Pa stood me in excellent stead for this move and still form a large part of the role I carry out today as a Recruitment Consultant. I haven t looked back four years later and am so glad I made the move from Pa to Pa recruiter The job is rewarding pressurised and lucrative and no two days are the same something which a lot of vacancies claim but it is actually very true I really enjoy helping so many different people with their job search and feel I have a unique insight into what Pas are looking for and similarly am able to provide clients with the right staff because I fully understand their requirements and what it actually takes to be an effective Pa. I also feel my career is in safe hands as I have always had a clear understanding of where I am going within the Hays Secretarial team and have numerous paths I could take in the future in terms of my training and professional development ranging from developing into a Business or People Manager within Hays Secretarial moving into one of the other 30 different divisions of Hays or even moving abroad and working in one of our 22 different international locations.
