BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT / INVESTMENT / STRATEGY MANAGER ? Purpose T his Business Development / Investment / Strategy Manager role will specifically be responsible for ensuring ?mission? to position Digital Media sector/division with key investors, customers and strategic partners in North America and foreign HQs to facilitate investment with the ultimate objective of generating additional wealth for companies in the sector and the foreign economy as a whole. This Business Development/ Investment Manager will contribute and be responsible for: ? Development of new ideas for projects and scoping activities that are in line with sector strategy and to carry these ideas through to delivery of Digital Media sector projects/activity; ? Project management of new projects and existing projects ? from creation to implementation; ? Strate gically and specifically develop/establish rapport and relationships with Digital Media decision-makers, senior management, Investment banks, Private Equity and Venture Capital firms (external & internal); ? Generat ing $25 Million of investment activity by the end of year 3; ? Identifying and establishing relationships with 80% of relevant stakeholders in the Digital Media sector by the end of year two; and?. ? Serve as market intelligence liaison to onshore Digital Media sector specialists and clients through quarterly reporting. Key Accountabilities - Individual ? Build a portfolio of high growth potential clients and strategic investment relationships; ? Provide strategic leadership internally?.and, to external parties with respect to the ongoing effort to attract Foreign Direct Investment and attract capital to Digital Media companies expanding internationally; ? Respo nsibility for engagement with Digital Media and Entertainment specialist team; ? Responsibility to take the lead investment case management role in the Digital Media sector. The case management role includes: 1. Managing the strategic relationship with the qualified potential investors, 2. Qualify potential investor leads against foreign HQ and against the capabilities of the investor, 3. Determining the investors key investment decision criteria and decision making process?developing & managing the agreed key steps & appropriate program required, in order to successfully address these, 4. Effectively managing the investor case through detailed action with all relevant stakeholders, 5. Ensuring that case details are accurately recorded in a Customer Relationship Management system-where available, on an up-to-date basis, 6. Negotiating the involvement of all appropriate groups to ensure delivery against investor criteria/requirements, e.g. VIP facilitators, other agencies of government, external agencies, private sector professional groups (legal, accounting, etc) and other relevant private sector potential business partners, 7. Determining, implementing & adequately resourcing any required problem-solving activities, ..and?8. Initiating & managing all other actions necessary to secure a successful investment & secure sign-off from the investors using appropriate documentation as may be determined by the Foreign HQs. ? Also responsible for managing key strategic relationships with investment allies and associated industry groups in the private and public sector; ? Promoting economic development agency as an investment location both onshore and offshore at industry specific events as well as at more general events; ? Managing relationships with Digital Media sector counterpart in foreign HQs incl. coordinating activities with them where one of their export clients is actively seeking foreign investment and is investment ready; ? Act as the ?champion? for relevant investment research projects, incl. participation during the preparation of the terms of reference, ensuring that appropriate groups are consulted, and by participating on the project team, etc.; ? Annually you will contribute to the Investment Team?s overall strategic planning and success; ? Initial appraisal of a company?s high level prospects and needs to determine referral or other next steps; ? Successfull y manage and co-ordinate complex projects both on and offshore; ? Time and task management towards project deliverables and outcomes; ? Scheduled reporting of milestones, risks and changes to projects; ? Strategic thinking and idea generation for future project and business development; ? Alway s maintaining / developing / commitment to sector knowledge, business acumen and professional growth; Corporate-wide ? Work collaboratively as part of the organization. This requires successful candidate to be very decisive, thought provoking but, to also, accept collective responsibility for decisions taken; ? Promote the values and goals of the organization, incl. good employer principles/practices and high standards of integrity, ethics & behaviour all operations of the business; ? Support a focus on contributing to the Government?s goals incl. growing an inclusive innovative economy for the benefit of all; ? Timely completion of all reporting requirements & responses to Ministerial questions as required; ? Completion of Per Capita ? performance agreement with the Regional Manager within four weeks of commencing. ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE and SKILLS ? a MUST: ? Min. 8 years? total business strategy &/or development / investment bank, private equity, venture capital &/or consulting experience with a top, global conglomerate in the Digital Media and Entertainment industries space, &/or global Investment Bank?&/or Private Equity .. &/or top, global consulting firm. ? Good / strong understanding of the Investment, Private Equity, Digital Media & Entertainment industries; ? Proven experience/skills with developing professional relationships with Senior Management (external & internal) & outstanding business acumen; ? Proven ability to produce significant output with minimal wasted effort; ? Proven / strong organizational and planning skills ? planning, organizing, scheduling in an efficient, productive manner?only focusing on ?key? priorities; ? Excellent / proven follow through experience/skills & commitment plus, attention to details; ? Excellent / proven analytical skills incl. financial budget management skills; ? Solid appreciation, commitment to conducting business internationally & nationally, plus good knowledge, understanding of the US and sector business environment; ? Solid appreciation & commitment to understanding international trends in investment promotion & attracting Foreign Direct Investment ; ? Proven ability to think strategically about economic improvement and the ability to develop, clearly articulate and champion Agency?s strategy, digital media clients, etc.; ? Proven ability to analyze objectives & facilitate development of appropriate strategies to meet set objectives; ? Proven & demonstrated ability to effectively strategize, initiate, develop and execute project from start to completion/deadline; ? O utstanding, proven ability to convey ideas both orally and in writing, incl. presentations, i.e. excellent communication skills; ? Sound understanding of key investment issues for new & existing business development in the Digital Media sector & developing appropriate strategies; ? Proven ability to see the ?big? picture and take a long term view; ? Excellent, proven client development / relationship / rapport skills plus, effective, / proven leadership skills; ? Proven ability to build creditability & rapport very quickly, effectively, active listening skills, and ability to quickly analyze critical needs with excellent time management; ? Proven ?real? team player skills; ? Assertive / proactive / persistent demeanor and strong work ethic, integrity and approach; ? Proven ability to effectively manage multiple tasks / projects & busy workload without sacrificing quality or deadlines; ? Demonstrated and proven negotiation skills incl. diplomatic, effective communication skills; ? Strong research skills incl. internet, personal computer systems and computer literacy in MS Office products; ?
