Apricot Kernel OilApricot kernel oil is extracted from the best selected apricots’ kernels. The raw oil is then purified and refined to get the final form of useable oil. Apricot trees are cultivated across the globe from Mediterranean region to South Africa to USA. Cold pressed apricot kernel oil is a yellowish oil with a characteristic nutty smell which is sweet and refreshing. Mainly, the oil constitutes of oleic, linoleic and palmitic acids which are unsaturated fatty acids. Due to the presence of these fatty acids, the oil can rancid quickly therefore, it is mostly sold in small quantities. Apricot kernel oil is used largely in cosmetic products, but it is very rare to use it as an edible oil.
